5 Keys To Creating A Culture Of Small Groups

If you haven’t already noticed, small groups are either present or emerging in churches all over. They’ve replaced many Sunday School classes and for many churches, have become a part of the very DNA and culture of that church. But just because they’re popular doesn’t mean that every church is finding success with them.
So no matter if you are thinking about implementing small groups in your church or if you’ve had them for a long time and are looking for ways to improve them, I think you’ll really enjoy what we have to share with you today. This past week, I read through Andy Stanley’s book Creating Community and if there is any church that knows how to use small groups to their advantage, it’s North Point Community Church in Atlanta.

So in the next couple of minutes we’re going to give you 5 keys to build a small group culture in your church and show you how these 5 keys have become the very blueprint of North Point’s ministry!

Team Discussion Guide

In this workshop, we are going to focus on helping your team discuss the next steps needed in order to bring clarity and simplicity to your existing small group ministry, or help you discover the core principles of your groups as you work to form them.

Set aside time in your next leadership meeting for your team to watch this video and then have them discuss the questions together under the Team Discussion below. Write down any answers you uncover and come up with some action steps that can be taken this week from them. Then, as a team or individually, work through the What’s Next section to see how your church can best implement the 5 keys found in the video. Write your action steps, notes, key deliverables, and due dates in space provided.
