First Impressions Signage and Communication

In this workshop, we hear from Paul Fleming, the founder of Church Ink, as he talks through some key aspects of First Impressions for our churches. First Impressions, in fact, is not one singular impression, but the culmination of many impressions that your guests experience when they visit your church. Without thinking of first impressions as a series of experiences, we can create holes for guests.

I love the concept of first impressions because, it really is where things start to happen in the growth of a church. This is really like the front lines, which is why we call it the front lines ministry sometimes in some churches. And this is that opportunity that is so critical for people when they walk into your door, all the work that you’ve been doing. It just kind of shows up right here. Some of the things that we think about, over at Church Ink and in relation to first impressions is, you know, how do I help someone from the street to the stage? How do I get them from the time they first pull into the property, to the time they sit in their seats and then all the way back out the door and leave the property?

Team Application Guide

In this video, we learned that first impressions goes beyond the first impression. It’s a series of first impressions that will either encourage them or hinder them to come back to your church. It’s much more than having a parking lot ministry or a greeter at the door and in this application guide we will walk you through actions steps that will help you examine the effectiveness of your first impressions in a much deeper way.

Start off this workshop by watching the video and consider sharing it with your leadership team or staff as well. Make sure to write down anything that stands out to you through the video and then download and print off this Application Guide.
