Leading Yourself Well

Most people in the world are not in charge. I’ve learned that only two or three percent of the world is actually in charge, but the other 98% of us, we’re not in charge. In some ways it more difficult to lead when you’re not in charge. One of the big ideas of the book is that, learning to lead when you’re not in charge requires you and I to uncover this myth. There’s a myth in leadership, in fact the myth is that I have to be in charge in order to lead, but that is just in and of itself, it’s a myth. It’s not something that great leaders believe. Great leaders believe that you can lead whether you have authority or not.
